Sorry for the error in the link to Steve's devotion yesterday. Have corrected the link. A big terima kasih to my abang besar in Canada for pointing it out. You can find the main site here. You can find the relevant link from there as well. For some reasons, the site is unavailable sometimes.. bandwidth issues? I really don't know, it may be TMNet's problem with the international link but I must say on most occasions it is up.
Had a meaningful day yesterday, was able to do some work in the first half of the day before going down town to do some banking and to pay my credit card bills as well, makes me wonder when all these inconveniences will end.
The day when we could do all our banking, payments and other cash & credit transactions minus the physical trips to the banks and payment centers. When we could have RFID chips implanted under our skin, imagine a world where you walk through the streets and have smart advertising boards beaming product information specially compiled for your personal need. A world where no cash is needed, hassle free checkout at shopping centers, no way of misplacing or losing your wallet, cash and credit cards. A world that could track your every move, where corporations could target specific advertising to you. A world where governments could detect your physical presence everywhere you go, know where you are at any given point of time. Your family could know by way of GPS where you are. A word of ultimate convenience.
Ideally the chip should be implanted on your forehead, no worries no scars visible, perfectly concealed. For those who prefers it to be implanted on your hands then you may be given a discount, one problem though, you may be required to raise your hand when the reader can't detect your personalized RFID chip. An end to our inconveniences! This event will mark the begining of the new world, spur new economic growth, a time of peace and prosperity. WOW! What a day.
Me? I await the day with great anticipation as all these will mark the begining of the end. The day when the coming of my Lord draws near. For context please read the book of Joel and Revelation.
By then choices would be required and all ambiguity is removed. Those who refuse to adopt the new standards would be ridiculed and ostracized, called foolish, labeled as divisive and lots more. By then we would be required to make a stand... for now I had better prepare myself lest on that day of reckoning I decide to choose the convenient way.
Inconveniences.. definitely a good word! It is inconvenient to care, love, give, correct, to remain pure and holy, living for Jesus sure is inconvenient!
Lord, help me to choose the inconvenient way, help me choose the narrow and winding path, it may take me a little longer, requires more from me, more pot holes, bumps along the way but I want to get back to you. Help me Lord...
