A Merry Christmas to all!
Was in town yesterday and boy! The traffic was pretty bad, congestion at every turn and vast number of people swarming the shopping centers, I guess we can't escape the last minute shopping due to all of our hectic lifestyle. It is interesting to note that lots of people are rushing to buy gifts for their loved ones since Christmas is associated with a time of giving..
Amidst the bright lights, the chorals, carols, the hustle and bustle of activities, the euphoria of another reason to celebrate, I do wonder if the center figure of Christmas is forgotten. We celebrate the birth of Jesus but sadly he seems distant and irrelevant in our celebration. At least that's what I perceive and am led to believe. The reason and occasion for the celebration is lost and replaced by opportunities to reap loads of profit dollars and petty insignificant exchange of gifts. How we have arrive at this pathetic state of affair truly baffles me.. It disturbs me.. I look forward to celebrate Christmas in 2004 with a deeper understanding, appreciation and significant of the birth of Jesus and what he has brought with him. May God bless you this Christmas and lead you to the knowledge of his son.
