We Sow and Reap Accordingly..

Had a good day with my dad, mum, sis and wife today. Being a Sunday, we went to the weekend market together at 9am. My dearest managed to get the cooking stuff she needs while dad gets to stretch his legs after being ‘imprisoned’ here since Friday evening. Heh! My dad is the city boy who can’t sit still. He likes to roam and explore, a real feat considering the fact that he is one year away from his 80^th birthday. Anyway, it is nice to show him the small town market. Markets are where you get to see interesting things and people, the market here features lots of local people from the vicinity peddling all their ‘home grown’ produce which you can get a reasonable prices. Mostly malay ladies spreading out their mats and selling all sorts of stuff which you never knew existed which could be eaten. We packed some ‘nasi lemak’ to have in the afternoon since we were going to have a late breakfast. Got back to the house at noon, washed the corridor using my powerjet and well, spent my time between watching movies, tea, chat and barbecue meat. The prophet drop in briefly with his wife, they were here to attend a wedding, and would be making their way back to their hometown to spend their CNY with their families.

Witness a neighbor shooting down some small innocent birds that happened to perch on the wrong tree. I think people should not be given guns. Don’t understand why guns are still being issued, guess the people up there are either blind, deaf, dumb or plain stupid. Greed being the prime reason why a lot of BS goes on here in our beautiful country. Anyway, back to the shooting. After firing his gun and witnessing the birds falling to the ground, the culprit went to pick up his trophy accompanied by his kids. Wow! What a great way to teach kids the value of life, the respect for wildlife. It is sad but I guess as in other things, I can’t do a single thing to change it as the need for humans to exert their dominion over the other species are just too strong. I know one thing, the principle of reaping what you sow, It this case the seeds sown into the kid will take root and the blatant disregard for life, the rights of other creatures to exist will continue to be propagated and in time these kids will also pick up their guns and go about shooting everything that moves. Man… why do they have to kill to stoke their own darkened minds and depraved soul? For one who is himself a created being and with no ability to create life why must man take another life just for the fun of it? I strongly believe we shall indeed reap what we sow, if not us the future generations will reap the fruits of our labour. Sow positive values and reap more of the same. It is our responsibility to sow good seeds that those in future will reap good values. This principle will endure… can we sow good values deliberately?
