Too Little Time...

Time flies, I remembered how during our school days time used to go so
very slowly. The school term seems to go forever while holidays just zip
pass quickly. These days, the month is almost over before I know it…
wonder if it is true that time passes faster when as we aged. I must be
getting old, really old. Anyway, the apostle came over with his gf and
Rainbow the golden retriever, they extended their stay by a night and we
had a nice break from monotony. Rainbow enjoyed her swims but was very
tired after just one afternoon of playing in the water. Heh! Even dogs
from the living in the city is suffering from fitness issues. Gordon and
Daisy got to spend lots of time outdoors lately and the naughty boy
refuses to get into his kennel area these days, even food doesn’t work
and I had to drag him in literally.

Was busy the last few days.. come to think of it since moving here, I am
always busy. So much to do and so little time to do it all.
We processed the last batch of chickens last week and it will be another
month or so before we have chickens for sale again. The first batch of
birds are a bit too old as their keel bones are showing, I guess their
meat should be more fibrous and no longer tender. The 400 chicks that
came in a month back are doing pretty well and we have moved them to the
bigger barn while the older birds which we are keeping for eggs and
breeding have been moved into the three smaller barn which we have
constructed last week.

We have another 3-4 barns to construct before we start working on the
irrigation system. I have also started clearing the thick undergrowth
near the mangosteen tree area and hopefully I can start rearing ducks
and geese. What with all the fear generated by H5N1, we are going slow
with our poultry plans. It is good for us as it helps us to pace
ourselves and to be more careful with what we do. The prophet is making
a trip to city of angels come Sunday so I will be holding fort on my own
for a few days. No worries as I am pretty sure time will just fly pass
fast.. super fast. Take care all and please do not refrain from eating
