Hi! Am in the city so blogging is possible. Internet access in the farm is a pain. When you hear of stories of streamyx connections being slow in the city, you can imagine how 'super fast' the dial up via cdma is.
Anyway, we had been pretty busy lately, first was the routine of taking care of the birds, dogs, plants and land then we started processing our birds as one batch is already 3 months old. After a lapse of few months from doing the processing, it is kind of an adjustment to perform the task again. So far we have done three full days of it and we are experiencing muscle aches. The benefit of all this work is the fact that you get to sleep soundly at night. So it is work every week day, during weekends I would have my dear wife back and almost certainly good home cooked food.
Life here in our country is indeed trying and sometimes it is nice to be cut off from all the news and just hide in the jungle. What little time of peace and rest is really good for the soul.
The durians are coming along and the squirrels are already feasting on the fruits, by God's grace we will get some fruits too. As the jungles are disappearing before our very eyes, what little wildlife around our place is being force out of their habitat and into the path of human beings. While I believe in giving them their fair share of fruits, many are resorting to using their guns, one day, all wildlife would be gone and we humans would be the only ones left standing.
Is there no limits to our greed? One day we will be the only 'wildlife' left, by then maybe, just maybe we will look back and come to our senses that if there was anything truly wild in the past, it was us. The only specie to kill for sport, for fun, the only specie capable of destroying everything beautiful in the name of progress. Sigh! time to go back to the jungle.
