It's the time of the year when Kimi's tummy is bloated, almost touching
the ground. The ground is littered with durian shells and seeds. In fact
there's just too much of durians. When the first fruits fell we were
ecstatic but after a good few weeks somehow the desire to have durians
has disappeared. Classic case of too much of a good thing. Of course
this does not apply to any of our four legged inhabitants. A nice change
today was the availability of mangosteens. After attending to
everything, I went down to check on the mangosteen tree and what joy to
find lots of fruits for the taking. Plucking mangosteens brings back
both fond and sad feelings for me as I recall how Furry used to
accompany me to pluck the fruits, sitting patiently waiting for me to
peel them for her. Sigh... Though she has left for more than 2 years, my
heart still feels the pain of my lost on 10th April 05.
We processed birds for three days last week and this coming week we hope
to finish up on the remaining stock. After this, we would be cleaning
and clearing up the land. Come September, the cycle will repeat itself.
That is how life is, we go on and on, some conscious, some ignorant of
the day when the cycle of life stops... for us. Take care all!
May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts
as we see the day approaching.
