are you lonely? certain times i do feel lonely here at the farm. especially when my wife has to be in the city to attend to her work. the retail market is getting more and more competitive and it is difficult to make ends meet let alone manage some profit. it is all very stressful for her as food help is hard to come by these days. well, i guess it is the same for everyone who tries to do business the honest and trusted way. much of the prevailing culture these days is to take the easiest, shortest way and to amass as much wealth as possible in the shortest time without much thought of the longer term effects and the consequences on the future generations. the focus these days is where you live, what car you drive, where you eat and play, most importantly how much money you have in your accounts. in this age of plunder little regard is paid on character building, integrity is just a by word. the earth's limited resources is for the strong and powerful to exploit to the max, nevermind the effects, consequences is not important. sadly, convenience, comfort and clowns are the order of the day. kind of depressing, makes me feel even 'lonelier' if there's such a word. sigh! is there a word of hope for me?
spent the morning taking down the chain link fence so that we could cut down the very old durian tree that's located next to the kennels. this is the most dangerous tree as it is very near the house and is at least 80-100ft tall. anyway, we managed to get it to fall at the designated angle and degree. God's gravity is still working. dangerous work but if you take your time and use your brains it is not impossible. well. am glad it is done and i don't have to worry about durians falling of my dogs. the last season i had to replaced four pieces of roof tiles when durians fell and crashed through them. thank God on all occasions my dogs weren't in the way.
i miss my wife, miss my parents, miss my brothers and sisters, miss furry everytime i walk round or near the pond.
