About time for me to post some updates on this blog. Was away to China on some business matters. During the trip I received the sad news of my JRT Candy leaving us suddenly due to injuries from a skirmish with my foul mood pregnant Daisy. It is a long story and I would rather not go into details. Basically our maid did not follow instructions while we were away. Candy is a rather jovial terrier and the first one to greet me every morning when I open the garage door. Somehow the mornings are different now with her missing. Yet another loss for me and just thinking about it brings sadness. These days I walk around with mixed emotions.. whatever that means.
Meanwhile, Olive whelped a total of 11 little ones and only 6 made it. All this while we were attending a wedding lunch in KL. The joy of seeing the cute little ones and the despair of burying the ones that didn't make it, night watches after that and we start behaving like zombies. Three days later, it was Daisy's turn with 6, 5 making it. So we now have a total of 11 cute puppies, the result of the maid not locking up Gordon as instructed while we were out of town 10 weeks ago. I wasn't prepared to breed any retrievers this year as there were lots to do. The construction of new barns and the planned increase of production is really a lot of work. Anyway, guess that is life, you never can tell what will happen next. Now it is back to the tough struggle to find good homes for the new arrivals.
My plan now is to find time to sit before the Lord for clarity in my thoughts and peace in my heart. Seek and you shall find... I am holding on to that. Lord have mercy on us all.
