Planting Tea and Coffee

Thought I share with you on my attempts to plant some tea and coffee. Yep! I managed to get some seeds and had tried to propagate them two months back, however nothing came out of it, the only success I had so far was some local soursop seeds. I hope to propagate more plants to be transplanted to the little orchard I have. It is funny huh? How we drink tea and coffee every other day and yet is totally ignorant in the ways to plant them. Well, I tried a new technique which I gleam off the web and hopefully my 5 tea seeds and 5 coffee seeds will germinate. Please Lord...

Guess I will keep trying till I succeed! Hope to give you some good news soon. I get such thrill from watching my plants grow, like the papaya trees that managed to survive my doggies. They are flowering now and hopefully the fruits will grow to be big, fat and juicy. The soil in my garden has improve considerably since I started adding compost and microbes into it. You can find more worms and other lifeforms in the soil, a far cry from the time when it was hard and dry. Commercial farming is killing our soil with the constant dose of chemically synthesized NPKs. A healthy soil forms the foundation for strong and healthy plants. Once you have that, you can stay away from the poisonous herbicides, pesticides and what nots... I would encourage everyone to stop using chemicals on their gardens, these are very harmful to the environment, just do a search on google and you could read of all the side effects of various weedkillers, herbicides and pesticides. So far I have yet to find one that is listed as safe. In fact most of the side effects are downright scary. Check http://members.aol.com/rccouncil/ourpage/samples.htm for further information

Hey! Gotta go now..
