Thoughts over Delicious 'Lam Mee'

Had the delicious 'Lam Mee' for breakfast. After visiting the bank, I suggested to my better half to have the noodles as traffic was pretty bad on routes heading out of our neighbourhood. The noodles came piping hot and needless to say.. delicious.

The indonesian girl who brought the noodle to us looks barely out of her teens, which brings to mind this mystery of life.. why is it that she ends up bringing the noodle to us and not the other way around? Does she have a choice? Leaving behind her family to work in a faraway, alien place amongst strangers. I am quite sure that she misses home too, she too would have look forward to spending weekends with her parent and sibblings... I offer no answers.. all I can say is this.. a whole lot of us here in Malaysia are better off that the poor girl and yet we live our lives haphazardly not appreciating the many blessings God has bless us with. We go about our routines without an inkling as to why God choose to bless us so bountifully... We never seem to have enough of material wealth, we crave the taste of new foods, new toys, more and more possessions. We need to get back to the basics! Rediscover our humanity, our capacity to love and share, our real, true image... the image we were created in. Get rid of the greed! It is destroying this beautiful earth.

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

Let's not turn the blessing into a curse. May God change our hearts.. Change me, Lord.

THE PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASISI

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace,
Where there is hatred, let me so love,
Where there is injury, pardon,
where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
where there is sadness, joy,

Oh Divine Master, grant,
that I may not so much seek to be consoled
as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love,
for it is in giving that we receive,
But it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
