Change We Must!

Changes, most people if not all dislike changes. The world around us is changing constantly and whether we like it or not, we either allow the winds of change sweep us or resist. I say when these changes are for the better then we ought to embrace it whole heartedly, we may feel uncomfortable and inconvenienced but change we must. I am confident that this would pose no problem to all of us, afterall since the change is for the better.

The problem really starts when the changes aren't for the better, on the contrary when the change is for the worse, what do we do? Do we allow ourselves to be swept along, grumbling and ranting or do we resist and fight? Fight I exhort you! At the expense of losing what we have, stepping out of the comfort zone.. we must fight! When elected leaders shows their distain for the very people who place them there then we ought to fight them. No, no, I do not advocate violence but rather we must be strong and courageous in our efforts to let these 'tyrants' know that their time at the top is limited. Reading of all the issues highlighted in our papers, I must say there are many people whom we ought to sack soon. This has nothing to do with political inclinations and leanings but rather principles and values. It is sad but I have yet to find one man up there with a strong and upright character. If he is there, he must be hiding somewhere. What has happened? We must have lost more the last two decades in terms of our 'value system' than gain... everywhere you look the ugly, greedy and selfish greets us. We have had lots of physical makeover but no emphasis on character building, even the latest NS is turning out to be another sick joke. Face the facts, these programs does not instill patriotism, at least not the lasting kind. My dear ministers, we are waiting, we had been waiting for a long time and we are still waiting. Would you please wake up and start having a vision of greatness instead of mere accumulation of material wealth and personal glory?

I further propose that we condition ourselves to change too, for the better I mean. Let's be less passive and find ways to turn the tide. We have a beautiful country, let's save whatever that's left before it is all gone!
