Mac - The Snake Eater

A lovely day to rest, rain and cool breeze for the most part of the day. God is good! Didn’t do much today, wanted to trim the weeds today but the rain made sure I stayed indoor. Mac tried to eat a little black cobra yesterday morning, Kimi was barking away and my wife found all four dogs surrounding a helpless little black cobra just in front of the garage. The cobra had the typical attack stance, three dogs kept their distance but Mac decided to put the snake into his mouth, needless to say he got bitten on his tongue, he released the snake immediately and got my wife all worried, his tongue had a trace of blood and I had to use my ‘parang’ to sever the head of the snake, a little cruel but I guess I rather have one less snake than risking my dogs going to heaven from a snake bite. Anyway, thank God it was a little snake with weak venom, Mac survive this bout and I am quite sure he’ll think twice before making a meal out of snakes in the future.

Did some clearing of shrubs and little trees yesterday at another piece of land 20 minutes away from my place. Was really tough work! Lesson learnt! Never leave your land idle if you intend to do some farming. Better be consistent and do a bit everyday rather than leaving the land for months on its own. Mother nature will take care of it by bringing plants and weeds of all sorts to cover the expose soil… by the time you want to do some planting, you will end up with more work.

Read about the illegal trees felling by some ‘clowns’ on some malay reserved land. I am amazed how people can go about these activities and never get caught, the fact that it is possible to conduct such acts of crime is truly nothing short of amazing! Another Malaysia Boleh! It gets reported after it is too late and we have officials making statements that they do not tolerate such acts, what a lot of crap! I think some heads should roll.. those shirking their duties should be sacked! Hey! Another twist to it, the official added another line to his statement, “we will not tolerate such activities; more so when it involves malay reserved land” There you have it! A perfect reflection of how screwed up people are! A crime is a crime! Do not inject the elements of race into it for political gains. Go ahead and act against these criminals, it does not matter who did it against whom. Criminals must suffer retribution! Period! Crime must be dealt with urgency and priorities. Sadly here in our beautiful country, this is not so. Let me state that this is my perception and mine alone. I speak for myself when I say this, the present police force is far from what we used to have in this country.
