Part Two - Conclusion

For starters, let’s clarify what char siew pau is for the benefit of those who doesn’t know. It’s a nice soft bun with barbecue meat as fillings. Freshly steamed, it is the perfect breakfast.

The story of this pau seller started from a conversation with the prophet. We were discussing about our walk in the Lord, I was having a pau at that time, not a ‘char siew pau’ but a ‘sang yoke pau’ another great tasting pau. I thought of how ridiculous it is for me to continue to profess to be a follower of Jesus, I think at best, believer yes! Follower? Twenty over years and no fruits? Bringing the gospel to the people around me? I concluded that it is like telling people that you are a pau seller for twenty odd years and yet have not sold any pau. Best part is, this bread of life is free of charge, it’s price had been paid at calvary, You get me? It is about time we assess where we stand and not wait for the day when we meet our maker.

We also have an association for all pau sellers, we meet every week and talk, talk, listen and listen but we seem to be stuck in this perpetual state of sluggishness with regards to our calling. We talk about how to bring this great bun to the ends of the earth but we are more content with sending others. We even have programs to pray for those being persecuted for their faith in Christ, funny huh? I thought it should be the other way around, we should really be asking these brothers and sisters to pray for us instead. After all they are more focused on God as compared to the whole lot of us. We are all pretty distracted with all the things around us. Some of our neighbors don’t even know that we are representatives here. Don’t think I want to go on about this issue. The fact remains; it is plain rubbish to call oneself a ‘Char Siew Pau’ seller when one has not sold one single bun. For starters, have you really tasted this ‘pau’? If you have tasted one, then it becomes your quest to get others who have yet to taste one to get one bite.

Anyone fancy a nice hot pau from Taman Connaught?
