A pleasant sunny day here at the farm. Got up early this morning to tend to all my dogs. Used the brush cutter on the lawn this morning, by the lawn I mean any part of the land not covered with water, concrete and tiles. Managed to trim the area in front of the house and a bit of the slope toward the pond. By 10:30am, the sun was getting too hot so I decided to stop, will proceed tomorrow. Was supposed to complete this exercise this week but since Furry left, I was in no frame of mind to do anything. Somehow walking around the place brings back a lot of pain, missed opportunities, sad thoughts and at the same time happy recollections of our time with Furry, her antics, a whole lot of mixed feelings, with the tears comes the smiles. We are recovering from the sadness though every still moment seems to bring back sad thoughts. They say that time is the best healer but I really think God is the best healer as his healing is complete.
On a happy note, I am pleased to introduce Daisy, our 3month old golden. She is a gift from a good friend of ours. We went to see a friend’s uncle who is a breeder for beagles, golden retrievers and other dogs in PJ last Thursday and he was kind enough to allow us to take the golden which he has kept for future breeding programs. We named her Daisy as she is really fair, almost white under the sunlight. She is a blessing from God as she was not meant for sale and was being picked and kept. Daisy is different in everyway from Furry but she brings with her a pleasant and charming disposition. You have to see her to know what I am talking about. With this addition to our family here at the farm, I won’t be having much free time to sit around and mope around. Evening was spent cleaning up the area near the mango tree, nice cool breeze blowing as I used the hoe to dig. The mango tree is full of fruits, the mangosteen tree too… remember how I used to peel the mangosteen for Furry during the last fruiting season. She would sit obediently for the peeled fruits… I am missing you Fur…
Father forgive me for I have sinned against you, thank you for reminding me again of how fragile life is and how meaningless life is without you. Restore unto us the joy of our salvation and deliver us from the works of the evil one. You, you alone have the victory and through my life may you be glorified.
