Gene Logsdon, that’s the author that has a profound influence on my decision to move into small scale farming. He has written a few books and they had been good reading, a lot of what he writes are stuff which I believe in but had difficulty articulating. Though a lot of what he writes about and draws on comes from his observations and experiences in Ohio, USA, it does reflects on what is happening throughout the world. Man’s insatiable greed and his perceived ‘better’ life and living, an ill-fated choice of short term gains over long term sustainable lifestyle. I am currently reading a collection of short essays which he has written over a span of 20years, ‘Living at Nature’s Pace’. I recommend his books to people whom I love and value. Most of his books are available on www.amazon.com, get one and I trust you would be well on your way to discovering freedom and a chance for excitement in your short sojourn in this world.
The prophet is moving here next week, same day we are leaving for Bangkok for some sourcing of raw material for my wife’s business. She is having a tough time with the business but we trust that God is in control and as we live in his perfect will we must learn to move with him instead of worrying and fretting. Once we worry, we essentially declare that God is not in control and that we are not his beloved. It is difficult but we must trust and obey. I believe with all my heart that God’s plans are good and perfect, we must be still and listen intently to the shepherd’s voice.
The prophet will help with my four legged friends while I am away, Daisy will be holidaying at my sister’s place as she requires more attention. We will be back coming weekend. Once I am back, work proper will begin on the farm. The last 11month’s had been a sort of waiting period for me, building my character and preparing me mentally and spiritually for the challenges ahead. Pray along with us as we move ahead. We will also pray for you as you draw closer to Jesus our Lord and saviour. God Bless!
