Hak Sui? Anyone?

Anyone for some 'hak sui'? Mr. C and D visited me last thursday, both of
them are in the business of supplying compost, amino acids and other
agriculture related nutrients. Met them a few years back at a organic
farming exhibition and since we have much in common interest we are now
friends. Anyway back to the black water, after touring my place with lots of
puer tea and chat we went to visit a farmer 30 minutes away, to cut the long
story short, we discovered that these farmers are still using 'hak sui' for
pest control, the reason for the name was simple, it was supposed to be a
banned substance but here in bolehland it is possible to get it and our
'responsible' farmers have no qualms about using it on their crops. Bad huh?
I will try to find out the trade name of the hak sui and keep you guys
informed. One word of caution to all, please when you do your shopping,
ignore the perfect greens, go for those with worm holes in them. If you
insist on the best looking stuff without knowing how it was raised, be
afraid... very afraid.
Oh! We tried mixing concrete after the sun is down the other day and it was
a good experience. Without the heat to contend with we were less tired and
could do more in a shorter time. The presence of the moon was helpful to
helping us to see what we were doing. After two nights of working all the
cement is gone and we have to order some more for next week's task. The dam
should be completely repaired by the end of next week. Hopefully, we could
then start on the chicken barns and green houses.. lots of work and tiring
too but I am enjoying it!
Durians are here, my beloved wife collected 4 fruits yesterday while I was
away to penang for the day. We opened two after dinner and it was good, the
prophet with the small cc eat his share too. Wonder how we are to finish the
remaining 2 and I am pretty sure that there are more on the ground today.
Will do some light work today and rest my tired limbs.
