everyone talks, you talk and i talk

read the news on the ap issue, the nep, the recently conclude agm of the all powerful umno. beneath the noise generated by various people talking i see no meaningful actions beyond the rhetoric. it seems everyone is interested only in scoring points, pursuing their own agenda, protecting their interest. apart from these there seems to be no political will to bring about change for the citizens of this nation, more so bring about positive changes for the bumiputras. in a world of intense competition and focus on improving quality and productivity our wise leaders can't see any worthwhile agenda to pursue other than that of preserving their political positions, their lust for power blinds them to maintain a course of divide and rule. i could go on and on but it is of no consequence. alas i belong to the apathy club too.
my take is this, clear as daylight. give handouts, those who receives will continue to depend on handouts, why bother with effort when stretching out ones hand is all is takes to riches. best part most aids do not get to the most deserving. why do we need to create so many rich bumiputras, rich non-bumiputras for the matter. if they can get rich, by all means go do it. the elected government must make sure the poor and marginalised have access to health care, shelter, education and a conducive environment for all to pursue their own destiny. those most deserving will enjoy the fruits of their labour and effort. affirmative actions must be based on right fundamentals. subsidies, handouts, freebies will not have positive long term effects beyond creating a population of weaklings, unable to chart their own path of success. best part is there is much abuse of the policy, many get wealthier to even afford a few helicopters. i would want one too. sadly everyone talks, you talk and i do too... can we translate some of our talks into action?
