Another sunny Sunday here at our farm. Decided to take a nice break today to rest my tired limbs instead of the usual heavy maintenance work. Started the morning with the usual feeding of birds and fishes, yep! And dogs too. Did I mentioned the new 400 chicks? Anyway, they are settling in very well, the broilers and featherless necks seems to be growing at a faster pace as compared to the kampong variety. This is our second batch of chicks sourced from Negri Sembilan, the initial batch is almost 5 months old and we should be seeing our first batch of eggs and hopefully chicks in a month or two. From then on we hope to have our own breeding stock.
We went out to the weekend market after my nice cold shower. Wish I had included a nice outdoor reservoir from which I can keep super cold water when we build the house, one thing which I overlook and now missed. So to the market for some groceries and brunch.
Was reading the my recent postings and I realized that since moving here, I have written less and less about the sorry state of affairs in the governance of the country and to a certain measure matters concerning the spiritual.. Of course I do think that I can no longer separate the world I live in with the spiritual aspects of life. I strongly feel that these two are inseparable, there is no such thing as switching from one to the other. You are either concern about your spiritual state and that your life reflect it or you are either spiritually dead. Sadly there are no in between, you either move in one direction up or slide further down behind. As I see the days approaching, the various events taking place in this world, I am convinced that we either prepare ourselves to faced the wiles of the devil, whole armor in place, sword included or be sitting ducks waiting to be eternal companions to Lucifer and his entourage.
Read Paul’s exhortation in Ephesians 6:10-18
And since verse 10 of the above passage starts with … “Finally, my brethren….” it would make good sense to read the preceding chapters to know what Paul was telling the Ephesians. I would really like to put the whole passage here but it would definitely be more meaningful for you to pick up your Bible and read it yourself. Let God’s word renew your weary mind and spirit.
My parting words today can only be this, borrowed from 1 Timothy 6:11, 12
“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
v20 & 21 “O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babble and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you, Amen.”
