Ginger came home with us last Friday, no words to describe her except that she is simply adorable. You got to meet her to know what I'm talking about. She is playful and yet not as naughty as Gordon when he was little.
The weather has gone crazy with zero rain and really high temperatures. The ground is rock hard from being scorched all day by the unrelenting sun. We are in the midst of building our greenhouses and as such the irrigation system isn’t up yet, at least till the green house is finish. After the greenhouse, we will add a few more water storage tanks and start laying the pipes require for irrigating the entire farm.
Sad to report this but some of our mother hens are dying, we have yet to pin point what exactly is causing them to die as apparently only mother hens who are laying eggs are dying. Kind of depressing to find them active one moment and then motionless the next morning. The smaller chicks and male birds aren’t affected. Sigh... We would have to take preventive steps to isolate them and determine what is wrong. This kind of news are always worrying but we are taking it as an opportunity to learn and discover valuable lessons to help us better manage in the future.
I am still doing a fair bit of traveling to the city attending to work related issues. My better half will be traveling out of the country this coming week on work and I’ll be busy here at the farm. Our little Ginger will get to visit my sis’ place in Klang and spend some time tormenting them good folks! Till then, take care and press on!
