Taking whatever life throws at you is easier said than done. In this respect I am still learning to take the unpleasant surprises in life. We lost one pup on friday night, before going to bed I went to the nursery to check on the litter and found one little boy under the mum, he was in his typical pose but lifeless after being smothered by his mummy. It is really a heart wrenching sight, I wish not to dwell too much on this but when I buried him yesterday, tears flowed freely as I remembered Furry's departure and this yet to be named little pup. Sigh... We need a little more of wisdom in handling this area of caring for little puppies.
Was raining the whole of yesterday, a gloomy reflection of our state of mind. The rains fell in torrents flooding the incoming stream, topping the level of our pond. This evening we were able to bring Ginger out for a boat ride in the pond but she was more interested in jumping in for a swim instead. The coming week would be busy for us as we return to our farming routines, new chicks would be here on Tuesday, the land has rested for quite awhile and we should be allowing the new chicks to roam and range in a month's time. We are getting used to not having regular income, a rather interesting experience albeit an unsettling one. That's all for now, my dear wife would be leaving for the city tomorrow and I would miss her assistance and valuable help for one whole week.
