The wet days are here, the rains put to rest our plans to process our birds this week. It's been raining the whole of yesterday and this morning too. The area where we do our processing aren't sheltered and with the incessant water pouring from the heavens above, it is practically impossible to conduct any outdoor work. We did some indoor work instead yesterday, cutting and welding steel, completed the fencing for the kennel area. Looks like we would be doing more of such work today due to the gloomy skies above.
Over the last few months, I had the opportunity to observe that first impressions are a bad indicator of what is to come. Be it systems, products brochures or people.. most of the time people. My human nature to judge and form conclusions based on the first impression made by others had proven to be flawed. It may not be a conscious thing to do it but all the years of worldly 'conditioning' and 'education' has caused me to be such, to the point that on the subliminal level I am forming opinions, conclusions and judgment solely on account of first impressions. So it seems most people that comes my way doesn't stand a chance while others that has refined their presentation skills managed to totally misrepresent themselves.
What do you think? Are first impressions a good indicator of what's ahead? From my experiences so far, I dare say first impressions are a rather poor reflection of the real deal. May we learn to see a little clearer, hear a little longer and not judge a book by it's cover.
