another update

we started processing birds this morning. we decided to do just 50 numbers in a day to ensure quality and less fatigue and tiredness from the repetitive task. this would go on for another week or so and then it is time to bring in new chicks again. just when we thought we have experience all there is to raising chickens, this last batch we had to contend with a stray dog that managed to sneak in and killed almost 30 matured birds. raising free ranged birds isn't as easy as we thought it to be. the stakes are high in that you can suddenly lose everything even if you had taken careful preventive measures. anyway, that's the way it is. a challenge for us and we will keep on at it till the day we call it quits.
i was away in guangzhou on some business last week, 8N away from my dogs and home is tough, thank God i had my beloved wife with me. it is rather depressing to follow the news on the earthquake disaster there. images of dead children, flattened homes.buildings just throws everything out of tangent. so many lives lost in the brief period of tremors. glad to be back home. apart from the renovation projects i have to follow up on, the birds are 3months up so i have to juggle the various task. at the same time, the grass, weeds and shrubs continue their unrelenting march to take over the property. sigh! wish that God had given me 6 hands, three bodies? right now, i have just one body, a soul and spirit all house in one. it would be a tiring time but trust me when i tell you that i will relish every moment of my predicament!
