Hijau gone.

All the rubber trees are gone and the sight of bare earth does bring some sense of loss. I miss the old trees. We intend to replace the aging rubber trees with other fruit trees. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for the new ones to provide some form of relief from the scorching sun. At the best estimates, it will take at least 5-7 years before we have tall, shady trees again.
The big trunks has been transported away to the mill while the balance are neatly arranged in giant piles awaiting a fiery end, returning everything back to the soil. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.. kind of morbid but a peek into what awaits us, mortal beings. Too much time and energy is spent in pursuit of what's temporary and yet we still persist in our stubborn ways. May God have mercy on me and give me strength to turn from my wicked ways.
