Malaysia Boleh Meh? Bila?

Every other day we are bombarded by an endless barrage of boleh this and boleh that.. I am begining to think that this is a deliberate attempt to kill off whatever working brain cells we Malaysians have left in our grey skull. I mean come on... of course we boleh, all this while we boleh mah.. we had one of the best University in the region, we provided good medical care, our team of Mokhtar, Soh, Arumugam, Santokh and others gave us much to cheer for, our civil service used to be professional and courteous... the list goes on and on... Now all we could be proud of is having the record of longest flag, biggest mooncake, chapati, nan, even lasagne? .. Look out Garfield is coming to town!

How about the longest queue at the Government agencies, that may be a record easily achieved.. maybe that is why it is not considered worth going for as too many departments may want to vie for it.. What's that? my friend's five year old would ask.. Sorry, I am begining to sound cynical, not the original intent of mine since this blog is supposed to add a little taste and flavor. Forgive me if I sound upset and all negative.... but can someone tell me what happened to all the trees we planted in a single day, we could get a twin record.. most number of trees planted in a single day and most number of dead trees after that.

There is hope yet! As long as some of us are willing to walk the talk and not remain passive about telling those around us that they are not heading in the right direction. The truth always makes people uncomfortable but someone has got to do it. That someone includes you and those who wants and believes Malaysia Boleh! Drive around town and every 10 metres or so, you will see that a lot of crap is going on... Read the local papers and you'll read a lot of crap.... what you don't read about is even worst.. sigh! We talk about it at the mamak shop, complain about it whenever we have social gatherings but first thing we tell the cop when confronted about a possible traffic violation is.. "Bang, boleh settle sini?" Malaysia boleh.. tapi bila? Sorry.. Being cynical again.. I had better stop here and get a grip of myself.

It about time we could boast about the best education system, best service at city councils, most courteous and polite personnel at KLIA, cleanest and FREE public toilets, best paved roads, lowest crime rates, most efficient traffic system, best managed forest and parks, lowest inflation, best quality national car, cleanest air, water and food, most transparent government, lowest corruption, most accountable MPs, .. the list goes on and on.. then Malaysia is truly Asia.. the best Asia has to offer.. till then we remain impressed with our biggest mooncake! Anyone wants to get listed in the MBR for Longest Goreng Pisang? How about us starting a Malaysian Book of Clowns? Anyone wants in? Sorry! This 1st edition is full...
