Consequences. Give It A Thought.

It’s been raining almost everyday lately. We had a small dam constructed to shore up water so that the pond would have some sort of circulation of water. Last week the rain was so heavy that the dam burst and water started to run through the sides, eroding much of the soil and creating a new path, looks like we would have to spend money repairing our little dam. The volume of water is simply too high and the drainage just could not cope. I guess this is the result of people clearing their land of vegetation, sadly many of the poor kampong folks living in low areas have to suffer flash floods due to the actions of these people. Convenience for few and consequences for many. Witnessed all house along the main road leading to our place all in at least 1-2ft of water. Our place is situated on high ground and yet we suffered the consequences all the same. When will people learn? Our actions all leave a trail of consequences… most of which we will never see or experience but certainly many innocent souls will get to reap the fruits of our ‘labour’. Good or bad is totally dependant on us. It is sad but the ones living on the higher plane will never appreciate the hardship of those struggling at the lower level. Coming back to the floods, we had heavy rain before but no floods, guess with vegetation the land is capable of soaking up the water and releasing it slowly. Now most of the hills in the vicinity are barren save for some weeds. The water is muddy every time it rains… sigh!

Went to the local supplier of fertilizer and chemicals for the farming community this afternoon. Needed to get some fertilizer for some of my trees, prices went up again. Guess this is what development is all about, higher prices as we move along, till everything collapse and the way is paved for the appearance of the economic genius who could provide the perfect solution for everyone. All hail the coming of this god, he will have the answers to solve much of the problems afflicting the inhabitants of planet earth. I too look forward to witnessing this one whom they will admire, praise and eventually worship. I must add here that I am not fully prepared to face him; I mean he would have no qualms about slicing off my head if I refuse to join his side. Scary stuff but looking at how I live my life now it is as if I am not a believer, I have a form of a follower of Christ but I must say as of now I don’t think I am following him. You? Are you following him? If you are, could you please remember me in your intercessions? Please stand in the gap for me. All is not well with my soul.

Back to the fertilizer shop, I stood in awe of the arsenal of deadly chemicals we have at our disposal to kill the plants, kill the pest, kill the birds, the bees, kill all living things and not to worry we will be the last one to die lah! Half of the shop is filled with stocks of these WMD, no wonder that Blur Bush couldn’t find them in Iraq, he was looking at the wrong places. Consequences again tonight as the clowns rain bombs onto Fallujah, they call it collateral damage… kill the innocent people, it is ok cause they are too far away and their lives are as precious. Iraq is a better place today? The world is better place? Safer? Less terrorist? Tonight, before we sleep in our comfy beds in AC rooms, we worry about what to wear tomorrow, where to have lunch, what to eat and a whole lot of other trivial stuff while some poor souls at some distant land wonder if they would be alive tomorrow. We will reap what we sow, simple as that. Alas! All is not well with our soul, we are enjoying our nap in the light while the world is dying in darkness. Lord, grant to us revival… start with me please.
