My sincere apologies to all for not updating my blog for such a long time. Had been pretty busy juggling my various tasks with most of it still pending and yet to be completed. We were preparing our processing place for the chickens and to top it the daily maintenance work here at the farm has to been perform regardless of how busy you are. To add on, the house needs cleaning too. Insects are plentiful with that comes the spiders and lizards. With them around you get cobwebs and little nuggets of lizard shit.
Most days are too short, come to think of it life is too short for anything. Living life to the fullest takes on a different meaning when you are out here. Anyway, that is a topic for a later day… if time permits.
Was up this morning at 5am visiting the barns and selecting some unfortunate birds destine for someone’s dining pleasure. Now that is one fact of life, for us to live others must sacrifice. Sadly most of us are still alive despite of ignoring the sacrifices of others. I find myself staring into the dark complexities of life, the various assortment of issues thrown at me without any wise answers to offer except for the simple desire to know Christ and hopefully share in His suffering as I journey on. Don’t think I am ready for the dying part though. Please pardon my incessant ramblings since it is early in the morning and I just got in from visiting the birds.
On a lighter note, I turn 40 two days back. Another reminder of how little time left for me to fool around with life. There was no celebration, no fanfare and I pretty much listen to ‘Happy Birthday Howl’ rendered by the resident choir led by Ranger the truly black soul singer since my dearest wife is away in the city. The dogs have very little time with me these days though I do let them out to play while I work. I look forward to jumping into the pond again with the goldens and celebrate life in its purest form. The dogs are doing alright. Did my part in making sure the grass is kept at a minimal height around the orchard so that they can do whatever they want without fear of slithering snakes and the like. The weather is getting hot though at this present moment it is pouring outside. The sun is exceptionally hot at this time of the year, around Chinese New Year it would be really warm outside and towards March the rubber trees will display the colours of autumn albeit the warm Malaysian version before shedding their leaves. For week or so, the trees will remain bare before fresh new colours of green appears and cycle of life goes on…
